Discover a living gem of rare intensity. This natural opal comes from the famous deposits of Welo in Ethiopia. Selected for its dark matrix and perfect translucency, it was artisanally mined on October 17, 2025 under the supervision of L. Martin (Mine Manager).

This black opal stands out for a spectacular optical phenomenon (play of color). Its translucent base showcases powerful “neon” flashes dominated by fiery red and vibrant orange. With every movement, the light redraws new chromatic patterns that are dense, deep, and captivating.

Hand-shaped on May 18, 2026 by lapidary artisan M. Sabadie, the stone displays a mixed cabochon with perfect proportions (14.66 x 11.49 x 7.64 mm). Its generous and balanced dome provides an ideal surface to express the full power of its fire. It is the perfect centerpiece for a high jewelry ring or a unique collector’s pendant.
