Zenith El Primero - 18K yellow gold chronometer watch

Zenith El Primero Chronometer, reference 30.1250.400, a limited edition of 500 pieces for the 125th anniversary of the Maison Zenith.

Founded in 1865 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Georges Favre-Jacot, Zenith is one of the great historic manufactures of Swiss watchmaking, renowned for its expertise in chronometry and notably for the creation, in 1969, of the legendary El Primero, the world’s first high-frequency automatic chronograph.

The example is numbered 280/500, with the numbering visible on the dial and on the case back.

The 39 mm case in 18-carat (750/1000) yellow gold is in excellent preserved condition and has not been polished, thus retaining its original lines and proportions. It shows no significant visible scratches, marks, or traces of oxidation. Zenith signatures and 750 gold hallmarks present.

The white dial is in remarkable condition, with its three subdials, tachymeter scale, applied hour markers and gold hands, as well as its date window at 4:30.

The watch is equipped with the famous Zenith El Primero 400 calibre, a high-frequency automatic chronograph movement. It functions perfectly and shows very good timekeeping results. It has been checked by a watchmaker specialized in vintage watches.

The watch is a full set, with its original Zenith box, outer box, and original papers, including in particular the individual COSC test results. The COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) is the independent Swiss body responsible for testing and certifying the precision of movements meeting chronometer criteria.

The preservation of these original documents is a real asset for this example.
